Equality and diversityTwo Ticks Logo

Nottingham's diversity is one of its greatest strengths.

Nottingham is home to more than 270,000 people. They are of all ages, races and ethnic backgrounds, disabled and non-disabled and from all faiths. In the city there are extremes of wealth and poverty. Many communities we serve experience disadvantage.

We are committed to understanding the diverse needs of our customers - and providing services that meet those needs.

We take equality and diversity very seriously - it is at the heart of everything we do. This means we will take action to tackle discrimination and harassment at all levels, provide high standards in our service delivery and make sure our workforce represents our community.

This includes being committed to promoting equality in employment to eliminate discrimination and create working environments where all are treated fairly and with respect.

We make sure anyone who works for us, or who applies for a job with us, is not treated less favourably than anyone else because of their colour, race, ethnic or national origin, religion, gender, responsibility for dependants, disability, age, marital status, sexuality or trade union activity.

To do this effectively, we require all candidates to answer questions about these subjects on the application form.  This information is used only to monitor our progress on equality matters. It is treated confidentially and is not revealed outside the company.

We are a ‘two ticks’ symbol holder, which means that we will interview disabled candidates that demonstrate they meet the minimum criteria. We also work very closely with Remploy, a leading provider of specialist employment services to people who experience complex barriers to work. Remploy works closely with the Department of Work and Pensions to find opportunities in mainstream employment for people with disabilities and health conditions.
